'93 240 flunked PA State Inspection Emissions 200

Last year, dealer claimed NOx failure was due to the 6 month old Meineke Catalytic converter. Check engine came on and has persisted with 2-2-1, 2-3-2 and 2-3-1 codes - all indicate too rich or too lean. Plugs look clean.

Meineke refused to replace cat until I replaced O2 sensor, since wire had frayed and I had done a patch job on it. Miracle of miracles, with $170 bucks for the new O2 sensor, it passed last year.

All year, check engine light is still on, codes persisted. Have checked for vac leaks spraying gumout around throttle and vac hoses, no leak. Back to Meineke for emissions test yesterday, demanding new Cat, still within 2 year warranty. This time, she flunks NOx reading 7141, and HC at 363 and for the also CO at 1.42.

So is ist the CAT or what?
