volvo 240 european side marker lights? 200

Hello I recently installed the side marker /turn signal lights where the volvo emblem used to be on the fenders. The lights are amber and work fine ; however I wired them to my parking lights . They stay on all the time when either my parking lights are on or my headlights are on , and I think this is wrong because they are lit at night. I think they should only blink with the directional signals and thats it. Please give me a link or other wiring instructions so I could correct the wiring.I would appreciate any information regarding these lights and their wiring configurations. Thanks rf64.
