1986 - 740GLE - Need Advice on Timing Belt - Brandnames to Use or Avoid 700

Hello again to everyone.

My timing belt decided perform the final act of de-toothing last Thursday in the middle of rush hour traffic. Why do they always do that in rush hour? They never break on an empty rural road at 2 am. It's always near an Interstate on-ramp at either 8 am or 5 pm with five thousand cars waiting for you to push the thing onto the shoulder.

Anyway, I need to buy a replacement belt and I was hoping you could advise me on which cheap brand names to avoid. Also, should I buy the kit with the tension spring and/or pulley assembly or should I just buy the belt. The tension assembly looks and feels like brand new to me, but I was educated on Ford/GM standards. The car has 159,000 miles and I have good reason to believe that this belt is either the factory original or it was installed in 1996.

Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom
