Annoying rattle in gear selector 200 1993

(1993 240 auto trans) Good morning to all; Just when I think I've chased down every nagging issue for a while (tail light shorts, loud blower noise-etc.) A new issue has popped up. When under acceleration the automatic trans selector rattles, if you put your hand on it or move it slightly forward or back when in drive it goes away for a while. I am at a loss as to what is causing this and how to get rid of it. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated
