'K' Block rebuild 700

I don't know if anyone actually rebuilds their engines anymore, but thought that you might be interested in an inexpensive way to prep the block and steel parts prior to machine work. Since Caustic of any kind is dangerous if gotten on or in the wrong orfices, please use safety goggles and gloves at the very least before trying this at home.

You will need:

1 rubber trash can
3 cans of Red Devil Lye
10 gallons of Hot Water

Put enough Hot water in the trash can to just cover the bare engine block. (freeze plugs and oil gallery plugs removed)
Add the Lye and stir.
Leave it alone for a day.
Remove carefully and pressure wash.
Oil or paint the block immediately.

Regards,
