Your picture makes everything clear.

When you said "bent" I assumed you meant when looking at the idler arm from the top view. By you pictures, I can see that you meant bent from the side view. In this case, I do have what you'd describe as an early model PV444 idler arm (and this is the same idler arm described and shown in my manual).
