Idler arm changes: early to late---update 444-544

From your pictures, it seems that your 444 has a B18 transplant, but retaining the B16 style hood and center section with the B16 radiator. This is not uncommon, but requires routing the bottom radiator hose from left to right.

I can't answer how someone installed B18 (later) steering in the 444 unless they changed the frame horns to the later style. The later idler bolts through the passenger side frame instead of being attached to the front cross-member, so you clearly have the later steering.

In any case, be happy. The later idler is much better, and a lot easier to repair/rebuild when the time comes.
