I sent a message to Jarrod a couple days mentioning this problem
and here's what I got back yesterday:

"I'm working on it. There were a few processign going that did this over
the weekend. I killed them off. I'll monitor it now and then.

The search server is part of the plan to improve this. However, there are
things I can do now to improve it and I'm working on those.

I did send a small contribution and I think it would improve Jarrod's
motivation a LOT if more of us showed some appreciation. This is a
tremendous service to the community.
