240 Classic purchase questions 200 1993

I am talking to a 240 Classic owner that is selling (1993; 113,000 miles; Classic badging, wheels, etc.) and had a question about pricing.
KBB says $4070 for private party (good condition)
and Edmunds says $2856 for private party (good condition). Big difference, and neither gives an option to select "Classic" model but I did put in the options: sunroof, alloy wheels, cruise, etc.

Questions: If he holds out for $4000 or so, is that too much? What if he wants more? Should there be a premium on the "Classic" for dash, badging, etc.? It appears to be in beautiful condition but I haven't scoped out completely yet, all records since new (one owner).

Of course my biggest obstacle is the fact that my daughter, the intended driver, would rather have anything but another Volvo. Will someone tell her how cool she will be in a Classic?
