960/V90 air pump 900

Boarders, our 98 V90 (104K) recently had some accident damage. The right suspension was destroyed when my wife hit a curb-hard!Just got the car back a couple days ago and noticed the air pump had at least one torn support (rubber peg-like thing) and was rubbing slighly against the engine.I zip-tied it back in place temporarily. The support was probably rotten-I replaced the three similar ones that connect the pump bracket to the car last year.Wasn't even going to mention to body shop/insurance,but I have not heard the air pump come on since we got the car back.It almost always came on when car was started.Could it just be the weather(Cool, dry lately)?A bad pump would almost certainly set the check engine light, right?
All suggestions welcome!
