760 running problem 700

Yes, the play was visible. My unit is mounted on the back of the motor - and the shop there had a used one for 50.00.

Oddly - that distributor the tech put in that day went bad too. The pickup inside actually came loose. The timing was so off that it would barely run, and got hot. I am glad it was JUST the distributor - as anytime one of these motors run hot - I get paranoid.

A re-built Bosch for my car from FCP Groton was 172.00. I ended up finding one at a yard for 75.00 - as I had to have it quick.

Hope yours turns out well. Make sure you read the FAQ's on tune up. Sometimes you will find something there that leads you in the right direction.
