Sky-high idle! 700

My 1989 745T idle is going crazy. The idle was fine until I cleaned out the throttle plate and idle stabilization valve; now base idle stayed at 1100-1200RPM. When in gear it drops to about 750 or so and runs great.
Well, today I load tested the electrical system by turning on every component I could. When I shut them all down the idle stayed at 1500 and then shot to 2000 where it remains to date. What could have happened? I disconnected the AMM and the idle dropped to about 1000; disconnecting the idle stab. valve does nothing... To note, this car had the Turbo engine replaced with a non-turbo engine, but all was well until now!!
