Electrical quirk in 91 240 200 1991

We have a 1991 240 sedan. Occasionally several electrical items stop working at the same time: Shiftlock, power windows, seatbelt warning, overdrive switch. If I turn off the ignition then back on seems to start working. Today I tromped on the brake pedal and all started working again. Also every morning, when the car is cold, the shiftlock is stuck and I have to manually override (usually the other components work but sometimes they don't). I have searched the forums and found some reference to the shiftlock, but no info on the other components. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
