bushings and brakes 200 1986

I am planning on replacing the worn rubber bushings on my power stearing pump which are allowing the pump to sag and the pully to become out of allignment which produces an annoying chirping noise. The parts are very cheap but i was wondering if anyone has done this before? are the old ones easy to get out? Secondly the lifetime BS brake pads that I installed in a moment of weakness are all but dead and squeeking like a stuck pig after only 20k miles. Any suggestions for brands of replacments? I like EBC and Hawk, but those are usually more appropriate for performance applications and although i love the old brick, performance she is not.
