Mysterious Stall... Failing Fuel Pump Relay? 900 1995

Volvo do not stall unless there is something wrong. So I had a near heart-attack today when sitting in traffic waiting for a light to turn. My car suddenly died. I quickly restarted and I was off again, but this has never happened before, so I suspect that it indicates a developing problem.

My car is a 1995 940 8-valve, rwd, single fuel pump, bosch system wagon with 188,700 miles.

I've performed substantial maintenance on the car since buying it, running Mobil 1 10W30, sealing all oil leaks, flushing all fluid systems, installing magnafine filters, replacing belts, repairing fuel sender, installing a new waterpump, timing belt, radiator, coolant expansion tank, filters, flame trap, etc... I put a lot of front end maintenance into this car as it's my daily driver.

I think the stall may be a worsening symptom of a "hickup" that I've been watching for a few months now. When idling at a stoplight, I've noticed that the car will ocassionally "hickup" The rpms suddenly drop a little and it recovers less than a second later. Unsure what's been going on there.

On the remainding 30 minutes of my highway commute I was considering what might have caused this...

*Radio Suppression Relays? This model doesn't seem to have them.
*Fuel Pump Relay? Possibly. It is of indeterminant age...
*Failing Fuel Pump? Seems unlikley - no weird noises, car immediately re-started.
*Ignition problems? I have newer cap, rotor, wires, plugs, etc.
*Clogged Filters? It shoudln't have restarted and run properly afterwards.
*Bad fuel? Possibly. The tank was at 1/4, I run 88 Octane from Citgo.

I'm leaning towards fuel pump relay since it is the unknown quantity here, but I'm not sure it explains that odd "hickup" that I've been having.

Any thoughts or other causes??
