It's for noise control

My information comes not from Rushbo (I am really surprised you listened to him) but directly from the Bosche manual on fuel injection, it explains in great detail how their systems work. As explained to you by others the preheat system has no effect whatsoever on cold starting. Battery strength, oil viscosity, condition of ignition system, compression and timing all have an effect on the ability of an engine to crank and start properly. I repeat, the preheat system has nothing to do with it. If you think about it there is no heat on the exhaust mainfold till the engine runs for a few minutes. Put your hand on it and you will see that.

Your veiled insults are really a complement as it shows I got your attention.
