945 antenna snapped off flush with threaded base-- how to get it out? 900 1992

Hello All:

I had a non-functioning antenna mast on my '92 945. I ordered a replacement mast which arrived yesterday, so I thought that I would install it after dinner last night-- it is a job I've done several times before, so I wasn't too concerned...

The damn mast ended up snapping off flush with the threaded base! In the past I have had to yank pretty hard with a small channel-lock pliers, and this was no exception, but on all previous attempts the sleeve eventually would come out (the mast was usually pretty mangled, but I didn't care because it was going in the garbage anyhow).

Can anyone suggest how to get the remains of the mast and sleeve out of the antenna tube? I have to take it apart anyway, since some of the nylon belt is still inside the motor mechanism.

Any wisdom on this topic would be greatly appreciated!
