So I think I've repaired or replaced just about every part on my '92 245 that could be causing this problem - but it's still happening. Once it's started, the car runs like a charm - no stalls, smooth idle, nothing. However, getting it going usually takes at least one-two turns of the key, at least one realllly long crank and a little gas before it turns over (don't get why giving it a little gas helps since it's a fuel injected car).
Anyway, here's the list of what has been done to date (some during the course of routine/100K maintainence and some specifically undertaken to try to solve the problem - by the way, the car has less than 120K on it):
Cleaned throttle body 2-3 times in last 20K miles
Replaced plugs and wires (iridium plugs + Magnecor wires)
Replaced fuel pump check valve
Replaced idle speed control valve
Replaced ignition coil
Replaced starter motor
Replaced oxygen sensor
Replaced timimg belt (retensioned after 10K)
Checked all hose connections
Checked battery
What am I missing here?? It just seems like it's struggling to get gas at ignition when it's cold - and the problem does not seem to change with the ambient temperature - but it's fine after I crank it and it craps out at least once or twice. It's in the shop again right now with my mechanic, but was just hoping someone might have another idea worth trying because I'm at the end of my wits and my budget at this point.
