Tailgate latch repair: visual aid? 700 1992

Can anyone provide a diagram (or at the very least, a brief component/procedure description) detailing the internal tailgate latch/lock assembly for my 1992 745? I've got an exterior latch that doesn't work (interior one is ok), lower spring/clip connection must be missing/broken. I've read through all the postings here related to this problem, and have a general sense how to go about the repair, but a visual aid or step by step instructions would really help.
