stalled on test drive 900 1994

Hello,
I'm new to the board hope I don't step on anyones toes. I'm looking to purchase a 940 wagon to use as a family winter car. I test drove a turbo yesterday with 85K (1994). The car has been sitting on a lot at a service station for 6 months. It idled very smoothly and was very nice to drive but stalled three times during the test drive. I know that this problem could cover a very broad range of things but was wondering if I could look at anything specifically to narrow it down. The battery is dead and I think there is a grounding problem because the temp gauge was jumping around. The fuel gauge does not work and the sunroof won't open(the car stalled once when I tried to open it). Everything else seems to work. What do you think???? Thanks in advance.
