Piston slap 700 1989

Your situation sounds about like mine. I made a post about noise - worse at the end of the day - along with a loss of power. The loss of power is worse some days than others - but the noise seems to be getting worse.

My next step is to straight pipe the cat converter - as it is making a lot of noise (loose parts inside). I am concerned that the converter may be doing something to partially clog the airflow after running all day - and contribute to a loss of power.

Mine too is low mileage. 130K for an 89. I am seeing that it just really depends on how well the PO did maintenience.
