tire pressure - Costco refused to sell me tires 200 1988

So Costco refused to sell me Michelins in the 195/75/14 because they only go up to 35psi and tires on 240 wagons (mine is a 88) are supposed to be inflated to 36psi according to the owners manual. I know a lot of people here also run the Yoko Avids, which also only go to 35pis. How big a deal is this? Tire Rack didn't seems concerned... Should I just stick with the crummy Goodyear Regattas? I have some on there now--never liked them and they are getting worn out--but they go up to 44psi.
