TPS full of Gas! Ideas? 200

I have been fighting with a no start (dies immediatly after start) condition for about two weeks now. Replaced coil, plugs, cap, rotor, AMM, intake hose (totally shot), flame trap hose (split in half), and IAC valve. Going down the troubleshooting chart in the Bently manual led me to the Throttle Position Sensor.

I pulled it of the car and it was full of oily gas. Tested for resistance across the pins per Bently and measured an open circuit across 1-2 and 2-3.

Needless to say I'm going to be replacing this part which I'm assuming got cooked becuase of the several ml of gas that dumped out when I pulled it. It may be of interest that it passed the "click" test.

Does anyone know what could cause this condition? I do not want to repeat this again.

Thanks.
