Engine has been sold 444-544

It looks like the seller got an offer he couldn't refuse. He canceled his auction. I wonder how much he got for it.

Phil, thanks for the input about the head.

John. I finally made it to my storage space to take a look at my cylinder head.
Guess what. It is the same part number as yours,552443. Mine came with the Stage II kit. It has 44mm intakes and 35mm exhaust valves. They appear to be specially shaped and treated stainless steel. It has the short, cone shaped valve guide for the intake to eliminate flow restriction.The exhaust valve quide is also shortened to eliminate restriction. It has the standard single valve springs but they are lower for use with an "S" or "U" camshaft. Compression ratio should be 11.0:1

Oddly enough that part number does not appear in either my Competition Catalog or my Volvo R Sport catalog. Apparently it is later than 1979. So that would make them some of the last R Sport heads ever made.
