Wheel studs replacement 200 1989

Hello Bricksters,

Over a year ago I posted the following

http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=845067

I actually never replaced the broken wheel stud and drove with four studs on my right front wheel during all that time.

Today I decided to rotate my tires, and while I was at it replace the broken stud.

So I removed the two mounting bolts of the caliper. However I was not able to swing the caliper.

1) Does something else besides the two mounting bolts in the back of the caliper needs to be removed for the caliper to swing freely ? The caliper was only moving a bit.

2)Both Bentley and Haynes say that these mounting bolts should be replaced withy new ones. I put back the old ones in (didn't have any new ones handy). Am I really at risk with theold ones back in ?

I'd like to try again to replace the broken stud. Thanks in advance for your tips.
