Overheating B-18 120-130 1966

Dear potential saviors or the mildly interested:

I'm battling a boiling motor in the process of reviving this zombie of a car and running out of reasonable causes. This machine sat with infrequent starts for at least one year, and the rest of the vehicle appears to have never seen the inside of a garage. The motor idles very smooth, but will rapidly overheat under fast idle once past the half-way indication on the gauge, or if left to idle at normal RPMs it will overheat in about 10-15 minutes. The cooling system has been flushed, pressurized radiator is leak free and clean of debris, replaced proper radiator cap, thermostat and water pump (though originals were found to be good); oil is flowing clean and under pressure but a significant amount is being burned. PCV valve appears functional, and have thuroughly cleaned PCV system. A small amount of coolant loss occurs after overheating but does not appear to be mixing with oil at any point (yet), and appears to be exiting the pipe at the radiator cap. The forward SU with the PCV breather plate accumulates an oily residue on the manifold after running.

This is all the relevant information I can think to mention. Next on the list is to install proper gauges and find out exactly what the numbers are, and to replace the distributor componets. All this just to find out what the other problems are with the machine.

Before I spend more than I've got and before I resort to voodoo I thought it wise to ask If this was sounding familliar to anyone. Any advice would be tremendously appreciated.

Many thanks,
SRC
