B230FT - crank sproket timing mark?

Hi Bill,
I'm working on the same thing today.
I think the notch on the flange washer is the mark you want.
You'll can also check TDC with the marks on the crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) vs. the marks on the outer timing cover. BUT, if your harmonic balancer is bad the timing marks are not trustworthy.

The reason I'm visiting the BB right now is that I was worried about the timing marks on the pulley not being 'in-phase' with the notch on the pulley (they're off by about 20 degrees). Here's the thread that answered my question, if you are interested: http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=851090&show_all=1
