Fitting US cruise control to british car 200

Hello all. A while ago I made the mistake of buying a cruise control system on ebay which was sold by someone on this board (can't remember who, not his fault though, I should have considered the implications more carefully).

After drilling, cutting and swearing at the bracket that holds the ECU, servo and brake switch, that's now in place on my right hand drive car.

Happy that I had got so far I continued to read the instructions. The installation requires an extra fitting kit for non-A/C cars which mine is. The vacuum line from the vacuum thingy goes somehow to the A/C unit?! I've never seen a 240 with A/C installed so I don't know where or how.

Now, does anyone know if I can just plug this in to the manifold vacuum instead? Is that what's needed?

Thanks and regards,
