940T SW Fuel Gauge? 900

Couple years ago I had the classic fuel sender unit (in 75L tank) problem that most 1994 940s experience sooner or later and I replaced the very expensive, hard to get at tank sending unit. Fuel gauge ref has been flawless since then with warning light and all, perfect. Recently I am now experienceing a new problem, my dash fuel gauge just goes completely dead at times, right down below the E, without warning lamp or any other sign? It will come back up to correct level ref when it wants and I can not corralte the syptom to anything else? This is different from the sender symtoms I had? I have found out over many years of Volvo ownership that whatever problem I have...... someone else, somewhere, already has had and crued it, in the world someplace. So if I get lucky with this post please let me know what you found?
