SUV vs 142S, sad story 140-160

Last night, a person in an SUV crossed the yellow line into my lane while looking for a letter that they had dropped onto the floor. I swerved; avoiding a head-on collision, but their front left corner struck my front left wheel, and then proceeded to tear into the entire left side of my beautifully maintained/restored 1970 142S. I feel that their insurance company will declare the car a total loss, and write it off. I have not yet had my appointment with the adjuster, so I do not yet know the details. If I am able to keep the car, I will have some very nice parts available to anyone in need. The main items are the near-perfect interior including a dash that I think would be called truly perfect, IPD sway bars, newly rebuilt B20B with Weber 32/36 Cannon carburetor kit, all original Volvo glass (except windshield) and more. I am very sad that after 35 years this has happened on my watch. I feel that I have let this group, and all those who have loved this car in the past, down by not preventing this accident. I hate the thought of this great car going to a salvage yard. I’ll follow up as soon as I know the outcome of the insurance settlement.
