TPS adjustment????? 700

hey everyone
i have a 1989 740 GL, with a B230F engine. i just got a new TPS sensor and i need to know how to properly adjust it....i read the FAQ on it but it still dosent seem right, its almost like the car never goes into "idle mode" and always wants to move foward when in drive. could it be anything with the throttle plate? any ideas?
also whenever i put the trans (auto) in drive or reverse and hold the break i get a lot of vibration. could this be because the idle is all messed up? bad trans? any adjutments that will help that?

any help is greatly appreciated
thanks in advanced
-sal
