REMOVE CARBON USING WATER METHOD? ADVISEABLE ?????? 200 1990

I have a rough idling engine. Idles at 750rpm. Gets ok mpg. Smoothes out about 2000rpm. 115k miles. I have done sp plugs & wires, dist. cap, throttle body & air tube, amm, iac, checked vacuum hoses, oxygen sen, air cleaner and heat tube, checked intake manifold with propane and stethoscope.
I want to blow out the cylinders using the water method mentioned in the FAQs, except I don't want to do damage to the engine or exhaust.

Please stay on subject. I would like to hear from those who have already done this. What has your experience been ? Did it improve the performance of your engines ?

Thanks in advance. jdl
