My wagon, automatic transmission...I start it up and it sounds almost as if the starter and flywheel were not engaging properly (big racket). It only makes the noise when in gear, and now only when I accelerate hard.

BTW...when I looked under the car, both plastic screens on the bottom of the transmission were missing.

Hopefully someone has been down this road before.
