90' 740 16v Replacing e-brake shoes, rotor doesn't fit back 700

i am replacing the e-brake shoes on my 90' 740 16v, and putting back the rotor after the new shoes are installed, it doesn't fit. Apparently, shoes are too widely open, as if the e-brake was engaged. But the e-brake lever is in the bottom, and I relaxed the plastic nut under the center console so, that the cables have no tension whatsoever.

Any advice how to get the shoes back in place?
Thanks,
