ACCELERATOR CABLE GIZMO???? 700

I have a 1987 740 non-turbo, and there is a rubber boot-type gizmo behind/beside where the accelerator cable(s) connect tho the throttle body. What is the accordion type rubber gizmo? Mine is in several pieces, but car is still running ok. The low speed accelleration seems slow. I'm assuming it would be helpful to replace the item, but first I need to know what it is called. Help!!!
