About to try and replace the pads and rotors on all corners of my 92 240 sedan - has Girling on the front and ATE's on the back (pretty standard I think). Probably going to buy from FCP Groton - but there are many choices. Was thinking of ATE rotors on the front and ATE Power disks on the back and maybe PBR/Axxis Deluxe pads. Is this a sensible combo. Money is not the issue but just want a durable reliable and reasonably performing setup. Also, FCP Groton sells ceramics shims and 'hardware kits" (what are these - caliper bolts?) - are these worth getting?
Also, while checking on the type of brakes I have I tried to see how 'stuck' the bolts were. I could not move the caliper bolts even after using some penetrant spray. Any tips to 1) removing the caliper bolts and 2) removing the rotors which I am expecting to be rusted on - have already applied penetrant and assume a hammer will play a role - but any tips that might help!
Have searched and see many opinions but nothing really points to any trend in terms of selection - would be interested in hearing peoples opinions...
Thanks
