Shift sensor 97 S90 S90-V90 1990

Hi, I have a problem with the shift position sensor. Damp weather causes it to malfunction and error out. Flashing shift inicator lights and a check engine light. After things dry out, the sensor returns to normal and I ahve to clear the code. Anyone change one of these? It looks like a pain to do.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Gumby
