I know about John.. I sent him an email about a month ago inquiring about head work. Haven't heard back yet.
I've been put on to a guy who does a lot of trick work with Italian cars. I'll see what he thinks he can do and for how much. If his price is going to be nearly John's then I'll go with John, provided I can get in touch with him :)
And about carb differences, I understand that they exist, it just seems silly thats all. You would think that with such an ancient technology they would have standardized it a bit more.
As to throttle body DCOEs.. awesome stuff, but not legal in the class I want to race in (targa newfoundland). I'm shooting for the modified classic class (or something close to that name). Throttle bodies would put me in unlimited and I don't have unlimited funds. This is all "in the next few years". I've got the chassis, and a lot of the parts, just need to keep getting the parts and putting it all together. I'm sure you understand how it can take a while to get projects like that rolling, especially when you're not looking to spend as much money as possible.
Do the folks at kg trimning speak English well enough that you can have a decent email transaction? I've gotten a lot of stuff out of Sweden and have found some speak better English than most of us and others don't at all. I find getting around their website a chore to say the least.
So far it looks like I am going with 1 45 DCOE at the moment. Got it and the manifold for pretty cheap. Getting a dual manifold with 16.5 cm intake runners as well. Can't wait to use that.
If I were to be buying valves, valve seats, short valve steams (I think that's all I want to get at the moment) where would you recomend I get them.. somewhere like kg trimning?
It's been great to be able to pick your brain a bit btw.
