radio suppression relay 700

Hi all,

I've got a 1991 740 GL that's had intermittant no-start problems for months before it finally quit on me. I need to know which wires go to which terminals on the radio noise suppression relay in particular, as well as the fan motor relay. The wires should have a grey terminal that can only fit one way into the relay, my vehicle doesn't have them, so they wires can go any which way. Here's what I know...

This is the shape of the female connector on both relays
_______
/ o o \

o o
---------

and here are the respective terminal #s

30 87
86 85

although one of the relay's I have doesn't have any #s on it, so I don't think they're universal...but hopefully the diagram should help.

There are 4 wires going to one relay (I don't know which one) with the following colors:

Red
Green/Red
Blue/Yellow
Black

There are 4 more wires going to the other relay with these colors:

Grey/Red
Red
Black/Blue
Blue/Green

If anyone could take a look under their hood and let me know which wires go where...I would VERY much appreciate it.

On the same topic, when I bought a new radio suppression relay and turned the ignition to the on position, there was alot of distortion in the radio that wasn't there previously. This happened a few times, and then the distortion stopped...does this mean anything to anyone?

thanks,
gbenga
