740T running lean, AMM?

I posted last week regarding using a dwell meter to dial in my AMM to provide a blanaced air fuel mix at idle. Well, I had no success with dwell meter when I gave it a try today. I appreciate the discussion I had with those of you who responded to my post, and this is a bit of an update (Art!)
I have been running the car very gently for the past week since installing the IPD A/F ration meter which seems to glow only red, giving me the first indication that the car was running lean. When I pulled the sparkplugs on the car today, I found that all four were greyish-white (more white than gray). This confirmed to me that the car is running quite lean.
I have gone through a tank of fuel with a fuel system cleaner in it, and am running 91 RON.
I still have not received my new fuel filter, but will be installing it ASAP.
I installed a new O2 sensor three weeks ago, so that should be working properly.
The car is timed properly, does not burn oil (at 313,000km) and has compression of 120, 123, 125, and 133 on a stone cold engine; I would expect another 10 to 15 psi on a warm engine, so it is easily within spec.
The car starts, idles and runs just fine, but visual indications are that it needs to be richened. How the heck do I go about that? I have backed off the AMM adjustment screw by 3 full turns (counterclockwise), which seems excessive, but I have not seen any response in idle or start-up.
Am I going about this all wrong?
JD
