HS6 vs. HIF 6 carbs and leaking/broken line 140-160

Hi all,
I have two questions. I have a '72 142 with HS6 carbs on it.
The line from the float camber to the jet on one of my carbs broke off where it attaches to the float chamber, (I had the hood open and saw it early so no need for marshmallows). ...So I was wondering is this an easy fix? Should I just get the carbs rebuilt, (I'm sure they could use it, they never adjust right), ...or I do have a set of HIF-6 carbs should I get those rebuilt instead??? (they are old and need rebuilding, I can then sell off the HS6's)
What is the best carb to use? My engine is stock and will probably remain so for a while.
Thanks to all.
