return line length 700 1987

Does anyone know how many feet of neoprene 5/16" hose I will need to replace the return fuel line in my wagon from the FPR to the tank? I had my fuel pump out, then when I replaced it I got a leak in the return line about a foot away, spliced in a section of neoprene, now I have a leak near the tank. These were big leaks too - does the return line get very brittle so that any twisting motion causes cracks?
