Can I be happy with a non turbo?

Chris, I have to question your saying, "The locking torque converter is a real pain on 50-mph highways, that's the speed where it'll lock up and unlock at exactly the wrong time,...".

My only experience is 2+ years with the '93 940, but I've never had what you describe. The AW71L always locks at 47± mph, and frankly I don't notice when it unlocks. But then, I hardly ever get in any long 50 mph situations.

As for hills, I never have a problem on freeway types where I can be at 70 mph or above at the bottom. On the slower roads, I let it bog a little then drop to 3rd and use the revs.
