Trunk Gasket Goo? 120-130

Hey All,

The top part of my rubber gasket on my trunk got worked loose from the action of the hood I think. I can't remember what kind of substance I last used to try sticking it onto the lip, but it didn't seem to work totally. I'm throwing out a request to you folks on what you used with good permanent sticking success? I'd like a substance that would allow me to pull the rubber back off without eating up the rubber, so that if I have to repaint in a couple of years I might be able to save the gasket. Perhaps that's a pipe-dream however? It seems like super glue would probably work well to stick it on for example, but not to get it back off without damage.

We're in an uncommon period of clear-skies here in the NW, but as we know here, one must brace for the eventual rains that always pour! Rust never sleeps.
