Dip stick popping out 900 1995

Good day all,
I recently replaced the oil fill cap gasket which seems to have helped seal off the crank case. As a result, the dip stick is now popping out of the tube. I read somewhere in the forum that the o-ring on the dip stick could be worn and replacing it may fix the problem. It this true or should I be looking at the crank case ventalation system? If it is the ventalation system, what are the service items and what type of service is needed? Specifically, if I need to service the breather box, if there is indeed one, where is it?

Thanks in advance for all your responses.
