How do I maintain power during start-up? 200

I have some aftermarket additions to my volvo that run off constant power from the electrical system (lcds, computer), but when i crank the engine and start the car up, all alactrical systems lose power, obviously. I know there is something that allows you to maintain power during start up, and thus not reboot the computer and start what i was doing all over again. What is this called?
