What's next after 740/940?

As our 740's and 940's age, getting up over 200,000 miles and more, where do we turn?

Do 850's and the -70 series have the same longevity and durability as our faithful bricks? I love my '91 745 turbo and plan to keep it as long as it is cost-effective but am eyeing the V70 and XC70's I see on eBay, but I wonder if they will be as trustworthy and easy to work on for a diy-er.

Any opinions/advice/experience on this? Thanks.
