Moisture Barrier in Door 200 1984

Hello, I had my door pannels off the other day and the things described as moisture barriers in my door have pretty much desinigrated. I have been thinking about what I should replace them with, but havent come up with any great ideas so far. The old parts seem to be made of something between cardboard and particleboard, similar to the stuff my door pannels are made from. I have been considering some thick(4-5mil) plastic sheeting cut and glued in but I have some concern that it will flap as I drive making noise. I saw some laminated countertop material at the hardware mega outlet but it's expensive and probably not very moisture proof. Has anyone had any great luck with a replacement matreial that they could share with me? Thanks, Kenneth
