Long live the AW70L 700

Hello All Bricksters,
I am trying to increase the life of my 140k mile AW70L trans. I have purchased:
1) Used Volvo trans oil cooler
2) Magnafine inline trans filter
3) Hose with fittings to flush trans
My question has two parts.
1) If I install trans cooler and flush return line from cooler will this remove any crap in the USED Volvo cooler?
2) To splice in Magnafine filter, kit comes with two short pieces of hose and clamps,can I use this to splice into Used Volvo cooler lines?
