How do I reactivate alarm? Car won't crank 900 1993

1993 940 Turbo Wagon - My wife had the only working remote with her while shopping and the Volvo was parked behind my son's car. Son and I used my key (remote doesn't work) to try to open and start it to move it so he could back his car out and the alarm went off. I popped the hood and disconnected the battery to stop it. Now, car won't crank. I've tried the "Volvo Guard Alarm System" instructions for setting the alarm but to no avail. I have pages one and three of a fax sent to me in December 1995 by Volvo correcting their manual's instructions (seems I had this problem once before), but cannot find page two. It seems their manual had an error in it. Can anyone tell me how to reset the alarm so I can start the car? Thanks. TJBren
